Resolution criteria
A majority means winning at least 218 of the 435 voting seats. Count certified results from the regular 2026 elections, including runoffs completed by 31 January 2027. Use the candidates’ election-day party affiliations; later party switches or vacancies don’t change the answer. If outstanding results could still change the answer at that cutoff, resolve ambiguous and unscored.
