Resolution criteria

Resolves Yes if Apple makes an iPhone with a display designed to fold during normal use available to order directly from Apple in at least one country by 31 December 2026 at 23:59 UTC. Otherwise, resolves No.

Background

Apple has not announced a foldable iPhone, but reports in 2026 continue to point to a possible launch alongside its next flagship iPhone generation. Recent reporting is split on whether the device will be available in 2026 or announced first and released later, making actual availability the key uncertainty.

Fine print

An announcement, preview, event demonstration, press release, developer unit, or preorder registration does not count unless Apple accepts orders for the device by the deadline. An order may have a later estimated delivery date. The device must be sold as an iPhone by Apple; a foldable iPad, Mac, accessory, prototype, or third-party-modified iPhone does not count. A conventional iPhone with a flexible internal display that is not designed to fold in normal use does not count.
